Elected officers of the federal government (Washington)

Hello readers, today I will talk to you about the elected officials of the federal government


1. President

He/she commands all military forces including the Air Force. A president needs to be at least 35 years old and natural born US citizen. He/she can only serve 2 terms, 1 term lasts 4 years. The president has to be a natural U.S born citizen. The president even has to the power to reject laws passed out by the government. But the chief duty of the president is to make sure all the laws of the United States are executed. 

2.Vice president 

The vice president is the presiding officer of the U.S senate. Also, the Vice president will take over the duties when the President cannot come to the office for any reason, and they also have a vital role in the U.S Constitution. Vice presidents follow the policies of the President when he/she is almost to retirement. 


3.U.S Senator 

The U.S senator must be at least of 30 years old, and they have to be U.S citizen for nine years. The senate has 100 members, 2 people each from  the 50 states. The senator's term is six years long. The senate can even declare war. The senate can also put-up taxes and also borrow money and it maintains the armed forces. It makes laws needed to run the government. 

4. U.S Representative 

The U.S Representatives must be at least of 25 years of age and a citizen of the United States for seven years. There are a total of 435 members in the U.S Representative. Each one of them has the term of two years long. The U.S Representative does the same thing as the U.S senator.
