Air Florida flight 90

January 13 1982 Air Florida flight 90 is departing to Hollywood from Washington. There are a total of 74 passengers and 5 crew. The captain is Larry M Wheaton and first officer Roger Apettit. Once the passengers boarded, the plane the airport had to be closed because there was snow storm. But after the storm the snow had gone away. The snow was piled up in the planes path so a push back truck had to pull the plane back.

It had to be de-iced so it got de-iced and pulled up on the runway. Soon it started to snow and the plane was reaching take off speed. As it lifted off it was feeling like a normal take off, then the stall warning came. The pilots were confused, then they saw the 14th street bridge, they tried to pull up but it was too late the plane struck the bridge and crashed into the Potomac River.

Some of the people in the cars jump in the river to save the passengers. Ambulances and fire trucks and coast Guard people go to the site and help. Soon it is clear that 5 survived, they were seated in the back. Investigators found out that the cause was improper de-icing. In conclusion all planes should be de-iced properly before take-off.
