Air china flight 129

April 15 2002 Air china flight 129 is departing to South Korea from Beijing China. There are a total of 155 passengers and 11 crew. The captain is Wu Xinlu and the first officer is Gao lijie the second officer is Hou Xiangning. The passengers boarded and the plane took of to South Korea at  08:37 local time (00:37 UTC).. Now flight 129 is flying over the the ocean. The weather is foggy.

Captain Wu Xinlu contacts the airport that they are now approaching landing. The control tower says that the can land on the runway. So the captain  takes down the landing gears and starts descending. Then the pilot contacts the passengers to put on their seatbelts to land. All the passengers put on their seat belt and the flight attendants says to the pilot that all passengers have put there seat belts then the pilot says ok.

The pilot is facing a challenge to land the plane in a very foggy weather. Then the pilot hears a pull up warning, then the first officer says lets go around. Pull up pull up the captain immediately puts the engines on full power and pulls up his stick to try to get the plane in the air.

But the plane crashed into a forest breaking apart and catching on fire. The plane hit a lot of trees finally the broken plane comes to a halt. The the tail had separated from the plane. Out of the 155 passengers and 11 crew just 37 passengers survive and 2 crew. The captain of the plane also survived the crash but his 2 other pilots did not.

Investigators found out that the cause was poor visibility due to foggy weather, so the pilots did not know if they were landing on the runway.

The control tower at the airport did not know that the plane was a Boeing 767. The radar was not working. The runway lighting was not proper

In conclusion, the weather was very foggy so the pilots could not see where the were landing. When the clouds cleared  off and the pull up warning went away they found out that they were landing in a forest.
